Researches looked at more than 1.100 parole decisions within the prison parole process
If a prisoner’s case was heard at the beginning of the session, when judges are mentally fresh, the prisoner had 70% chance of getting parole.
But if the case was heard towards the end of the session, before the break, the chances drop to 10%
Our decision-making gets worse as we make additional choices, and our cognitive abilities get worn out
