52 students watched 10 reverse psychology ads, then rated their interest and comfort level regarding the ads
The ads included phrases like “Don’t buy this jacket” and “Text while driving”.
49.7% of respondents showed interest in negative advertising messages, despite only 23.4% feeling comfortable with them.
Reverse psychology can effectively create awareness and interest, despite the discomfort it may initially evoke.
