Creating a Nudge Building

Challenge

To propose, in process of a call for proposals, a user-centric building that helps residents to adopt sustainable habits such as water conservation and energy saving.

nudge

A range of nudges were created to create salience and prompt good habits.
Among them:

  • A shower head which changes color after 7 minutes of use. This way, users know how much time they have spent under the shower, and is then free (according to their conscience) to continue or end their shower.
  • Stickers with characters that are reassembled when the radiator thermostat is set to an environmentally-friendly temperature.
